MYSORE: Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has provided funds to the National Institute of Engineering (NIE) to carry out a research project on how land use impacts stream flow in the Western Ghat regions.
The project is being implemented by the department of civil engineering of NIE and involves extensive field studies in Malnad areas for collecting data on rainfall and stream flow and analysis of remotely-sensed data.

This project provides scope for civil engineering graduates to take up research leading to MSc (Engg) and PhD. The project provides funds to pay a junior research fellow, who is to work fulltime on the project.
